For students in participating programs, countless events and activities will be offered throughout the course of your time at NYU. Events are chaperoned by Program Assistants and staff. In years past, activities included:

Trips to Museums
MoMA, The Cloisters, the Guggenheim

City Excursions and Sites
Coney Island, Bronx Zoo, Governors Island, Empire State Building

Cultural and Sports Events
Baseball games, Broadway shows, movie screenings

The cost of events is covered by the program fee students in participating programs pay. Cost does not cover transportation to and from campus or any additional personal expenses, such as food or souvenirs.

How to Sign Up

  • Students are emailed each Wednesday (beginning before the program begins!) with event and RSVP information two weeks in advance of the events.
  • Students must RSVP by the following Monday at 12:00 p.m.
  • Students will receive event confirmation emails by the next Thursday.
  • Example: Students receive an email on Wednesday, June 14 for events taking place the week of June 25-July 1.  The RSVP deadline is Monday, June 19 at noon, and students receive event confirmation emails by Thursday, June 22.

Didn’t Get Into an Event?
Space on particular events may be limited. If you forgot to sign up for an event and want to attend or you didn’t get selected to participate in an event, don’t worry! For each event there is the opportunity to “rush,” meaning you can wait at the meeting spot for the event on the day of. If a student who was chosen to attend does not show up, and there is an extra spot available, student names will then be drawn from the rush lottery box.

Because of event demand, students may not get into every first-choice event they have, but a variety of amazing events are available each evening and weekend, so you will not miss out!

More information about events and the RSVP and rush process will be covered at program orientations.
